<p>On the 2^nd April Montone is going to celebrate the Easter’s Monday with the “<strong>Holy Thorn’s Donation - Celebration of the ancient County of Braccio da Montone</strong>”, anticipation of the big August’s celebration that will recall the Donation from Carl, son of Braccio Fortebraccio , to the people of Montone of a thorn from the crown that pierced Jesus’ head.</p> <br> <p>The historical documents narrate that exactly on the Easter’s Monday Carlo Fortebraci donated to Montone the Horn of the Christ’s Crown received by the Serenissima Republic of Venice for his military services.</p> <p>The Thorn has been preserved by the nuns of St.</p>Agnese’s convent since 1798, year when the church of St. Francis caught fire. <p></p> <p>Celebrations will start by reading the “Proclamation of the Big Standard-Bearer”, followed by the historical parade.</p> <p>In the afternoon it will be possible to visit the Holy Thorn’s reliquary in the Collegiate Church.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The schedule, beyond the religious ceremonies, also includes the medieval market, the games in the square and many shows for adults and kids. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>It will be a day to plunge into the medieval atmosphere of Montone, one of the “Italian most beautiful villages”.</p> <p><strong>For further information:</strong></p> <p><a href="http://www.montonein.it">www.montonein.it</a></p> <br> <p>Il 2 aprile Montone festeggia il Lunedì dell'Angelo con la "<strong>Donazione della Santa Spina - Celebrazione dell'antica Contea di Braccio da Montone</strong>", anticipazione di quella che sarà la grande festa di agosto, con la quale si ricorda la Donazione di una Spina della corona che trafisse il capo di Gesù al popolo di Montone da parte di Carlo, figlio di Braccio Fortebraccio.</p> <br> <p>I documenti storici narrano che proprio il Lunedì dell’Angelo Carlo Fortebracci donò a Montone la Spina della Corona di Cristo ricevuta dalla Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia, per i suoi servigi militari.</p>&nbsp; <br> Dal 1798, anno dell’incendio della chiesa di San Francesco, la Spina viene custodita dalle suore del convento di Sant’Agnese. <br> Le celebrazioni avranno inizio con la lettura del "Proclama de lo Gran Gonfaloniero" e il corteo storico. <br> Il reliquiario della Santa Spina sarà visitabile per l’intero pomeriggio nella chiesa della Collegiata.&nbsp; <br> Oltre alle celebrazioni religiose, in programma anche il mercato medievale, i giochi in piazza e tanti spettacoli per grandi e piccini. <br> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <br> Una giornata per immergersi nell'atmosfera medievale di Montone, uno de "I Borghi più belli d'Italia". <p></p> <p><strong>Per maggiori informazioni:</strong></p> <p><a href="http://www.montonein.it">www.montonein.it</a></p> <br>
