<p>“<strong>Paths</strong>”, the first Festival of Contemporary Art, is going to start on 31^st March: a collective and travelling exhibition in the maze of streets of Amelia’s town centre, a village of Roman origin in the southern side of Umbria built on three levels and surrounded by ‘cyclopean’ walls that for a month will be the location for experiments, a laboratory and a framework of dialogue between contemporary art and the town’s inhabitants.</p><p></p> <br> <p>It’s an exhibition created to imagine the stages of a visual and symbolic itinerary uniting memory and metaphors of faraway travels between East and West, between “The Silk Road” and the “Via Francigena”, that crossed centuries ago in this territory of horizons as far as the eye can see.</p> <p>Artists are going to ‘scatter’ their own artworks – paintings, photos, videos, installations, all the composite repertoire of the current art - among the streets of Amelia’s historical centre, in the hallways of the ancient noble palaces that will be opened just for the occasion, as well as in the monumental spaces of the Roman cisterns dating back to the 2^nd century B.C., located below Piazza Matteotti or on the walls of deconsecrated buildings.</p> <p><strong>For further information:</strong></p> <p><a href="http://www.sentieriartecontemporanea.com">www.sentieriartecontemporanea.com</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <br> Il 31 marzo prende il via " <strong>Sentieri</strong>", il primo Festival di Arte Contemporanea: un’esposizione collettiva ed itinerante nel dedalo di vie del centro storico di Amelia, borgo di origine romana a sud dell’Umbria, che si arrampica su tre livelli, circondato da mura “ciclopiche”, che per un mese sarà luogo di sperimentazioni, un laboratorio e cornice di dialogo tra l’arte contemporanea e gli abitanti.<br> <p>Una mostra per immaginare le tappe di un percorso visivo e simbolico che<br> accomuna, sfiorandole, la memoria e la metafora di viaggi lontani, tra oriente e occidente, tra “La Via della seta” e la “Via Francigena” che in questo territorio di orizzonti a perdita d’occhio, si sono incrociate secoli addietro.&nbsp;</p> <p>Gli artisti si dissemineranno tra le vie del centro storico di Amelia per collocare le proprie opere - dipinti, fotografie, video, installazioni, tutto il composito repertorio dell'arte di oggi - negli androni di antichi palazzi nobiliari che verranno appositamente aperti per l’occasione, negli spazi monumentali delle cisterne romane risalenti al II sec. a.C, site sotto piazza Matteotti o sui muri di edifici sconsacrati.</p> <p>Per maggiori informazioni:</p> <p><a href="http://www.sentieriartecontemporanea.com">www.sentieriartecontemporanea.com</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <br>
