La primavera in Umbria si sposa con uno degli eventi medievali più importanti del panorama nazionale: la <strong> Corsa all’Anello</strong>, con cui Narni rievoca gli antichi fasti in onore del Santo Giovenale, primo vescovo della città.&nbsp; <br> <p>Furono gli statuti del 1371 a sancire definitivamente la nascita dei festeggiamenti in onore del patrono, tra riti, cerimonie e giochi.</p><p></p> <p>Oggi la manifestazione dura tre settimane per culminare la seconda domenica di maggio con la celebre Corsa al "Campo de li giochi": la lettura del Bando riporta Narni indietro nel tempo con l'apertura delle taverne, l'Offerta dei Ceri, le Giornate Medievali e il Corte Storico composto da musici, magistrature e terzieri che sfilano per le vie illuminate dal chiarore delle fiaccole.</p> <p>Molte saranno le novità di questa cinquantunesima edizione, in programma dal 24 aprile al 12 maggio: ci saranno spettacoli, mostre, banchetti, mercati medievali, giornate a tema e tanti altri eventi mai realizzati prima.&nbsp;<br> Il programma sarà il perfetto connubio tra tradizione ed innovazione, mantenendo le radici e guardando al futuro.</p> <p>Cuore della rievocazione resta la sfida equestre tra i terzieri (Mezule, Fraporta e Santa Maria): ogni cavaliere affrontando il proprio avversario deve infilare tre anelli lungo un percorso ellittico, al terzo anello è azionato un congegno che fa cadere l'anello dell'avversario in ritardo.</p> <p>Il terziere vincitore terrà in custodia, fino all'edizione successiva, l'anello d'argento.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Per maggiori informazioni:</strong></p> <p><a href="http://www.corsallanello.it/">http://www.corsallanello.it/</a></p> Spring in Umbria combines well with one of the most important medieval events on the national scene, the <strong>Ring Race</strong>, through which Narni re-enacts the ancient splendours in honour of Saint Giovenale, the first bishop of the city. <br> <p>It was the statutes of 1371 that definitively sanctioned the birth of the celebrations in honour of the patron, including rites, ceremonies and games.</p><p></p> <p>Today the event lasts three weeks to culminate on the second Sunday of May with the famous Race to the "Campo de li giochi": the reading of the notice takes Narni back in time with the opening of the taverns, the Offering of the Candles, the Medieval Days and the Historical Procession composed of musicians, magistrates and inhabitants of the quarters who parade through the streets lit by torches.</p> <p>There will be many new features in this 51^st edition, scheduled from 24^th April to 12^th May: the schedule includes shows, exhibitions, banquets, medieval markets, themed days and many other events that have never been held before.</p> <p>The program will be the perfect combination of tradition and innovation, keeping the roots and looking to the future.</p> <p>The heart of the commemoration remains the equestrian challenge between the districts (Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria): each knight facing his opponent must thread three rings along an elliptical path and the third ring activates a device that makes the ring of the opponent fall late.</p> <p>The winning district will keep the silver ring in custody until the next edition.</p> <p><strong>For more information:</strong></p> <p><a href="http://www.corsallanello.it/">http://www.corsallanello.it/</a></p>
